You are about to pay for every visitor this page receives, so a landing page checklist is the cheapest ten minutes in the entire campaign.
Above the fold
- The headline names the specific thing, not the category. Modular kitchens in Gurugram, installed in 6 weeks beats Transform your home.
- The offer is visible without scrolling. What they get, and what it costs them to ask.
- One primary action. Not a form, a phone number, a WhatsApp button, a brochure download and a newsletter signup competing with each other.
- The ad's promise appears in the first screen. Whatever made them click should be the first thing they see.
Speed
- Test on a mid-range Android on 4G. Not your laptop on office wifi.
- Hero image compressed and served in a modern format. This is usually the single heaviest thing on the page.
- Fonts limited to two families. Each extra family is a render-blocking request.
- Tags audited. Six analytics scripts in the head is a self-inflicted wound.
The form
- Three or four fields. Everything else can be asked on the call.
- Correct input types so phones show the right keyboard —
telfor phone, emailfor email. - Submit button reachable with a thumb, not hidden behind the browser chrome.
- Errors explained inline, next to the field, not as a single message at the top.
- Actually submit it yourself on a phone. Then check the lead arrived where it should.
Proof
- At least one number a visitor could verify.
- Real photos of real work. Stock imagery reads as a template, and templates read as risky.
- A review with detail in it, not great service.
- Something that answers the main objection head-on — usually price, timeline or trust.
If a visitor cannot tell within five seconds what you sell, who it is for and what happens if they click, the page is not ready for paid traffic.
Trust signals, specifically for India
- A WhatsApp option alongside the form. A large share of buyers will message before they will call or fill anything in.
- A real phone number, visible, that someone answers.
- Location stated. Even for a remote service. Delhi NCR beats no address.
- Price range shown. Hiding it fills your pipeline with people who cannot afford you.
After submit
- The thank-you state says what happens next, and when.
- An automated WhatsApp message goes out immediately — the single highest-return automation in Indian lead-gen. The full sequence is here.
- The conversion event fires on that state, and you have watched it arrive.
The five-second test to close the landing page checklist
Show the page to someone who knows nothing about the business for five seconds, then take it away. Ask them what the company sells and what they were supposed to do. If they cannot answer both, no amount of ad optimisation will save the campaign.
We will do this on your account for nothing — request the audit.
Questions people ask
What should be on a landing page for paid traffic?
One offer, stated above the fold in the same words as the ad; a form asking only for what the next conversation needs; proof a stranger would believe; and nothing competing for the click. Everything else is optional and most of it costs conversions.
How fast does a landing page need to be?
Fast on a mid-range phone on mobile data, not fast on your laptop on office wifi. You pay for the click whether or not the page finishes loading, so every second of delay is spend converted into nothing.
How many form fields should I use?
As few as the next conversation requires. Each extra field costs completions; each qualifying field costs volume and buys quality. Which trade you want depends on whether your sales team is short of leads or short of time.
Should the landing page match the ad exactly?
The headline should repeat the ad’s promise closely enough that the visitor knows they are in the right place. Mismatch between ad and page is one of the most common and most expensive failures in paid media.
